Joaquín Adán Mateo Archuleta y Vigil was born on Monday, June 26, 2000 in Las Vegas, NM to his parents Audrey Vigil-Archuleta and Angelo Archuleta. Joaquin passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025 in Cleveland, NM. Joaquín is preceded in death by his Nana Margaret and Grandpa Melvin Vigil, his 'Mita Flora Maés, his Abuelo Juan Felix Archuleta, and Padrino Richard Estrada.

Joaquin was a 2018 graduate of West Las Vegas High School, where he was a Wrestler, a Choir member (3-time All-Stater), a member of WLVHS Band and of Don Mariachi Del Oeste. Joaquin is also a graduate of New Mexico Highlands University Social Work Program (BA-2022; MA-2024).

Quino's death is such a devastatingly profound loss because of the great person he was. Everyone who knew him can tell you of his kindness, his concern for others, his generosity, and his need to protect those he loved. Joaquin was very intelligent and learned about anything and everything he could. Joaquín was also a very talented musician and vocalist and member of the band Agua Negra. Joaquín was a skilled Social Worker and public servant who strived to help others, especially those with disabilities, mental health issues, and the poor. A lifelong Catholic, Joaquín was a member of Santa Gertrudis Catholic Parish in Mora and a member of La Fraternidad Piadosa de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno.

Joaquín is survived by  his parents Audrey and Angelo, his dear sister Reina, his Grandma Sophia, his partner Donna Aragón and their daughters Essynce, Aaryce, and Azaylia, his "Auntie Sugar" Wendy and Uncle Shane Candelaria, his Uncle Bryan and Aunt Alicia Vigil, his Tía and Nina Jeanette and Tío Chris Thornburg, his Tío Juan Felix Archuleta, Jr. and Aunt Julia, his Tío Jacob and Tía Sarah Archuleta, his cousins Justin and son Jusiah Estrada, Gabriel Estrada and fiancée Shyane and their children Luka, Ella Rose, and Gabriella Sophia, Fabián Romero and partner Jamie, Mariposa and partner Shawn and Santiago Archuleta, Christian and fiancée Allie and Alexander Vigil, Angelina García, Gabriella Torrez, Corrina, Santana, and Marisabel Archuleta, and Nathan and wife Amanda Candelaria and their children Ava and Jaxon Candelaria. Joaquín is also survived by countless tíos, tías, primos, friends, co-workers, and clients.

Rosaries for Joaquín will be prayed on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM and Monday, December 15, 2025 at 7:00 pm at Santa Gertrudis Catholic Church in Mora, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be co-celebrated by Fr. Paul Grala S.O.L.T. and Fr. Rob Yaksich on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 10:00 am at Santa Gertrudis Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Antonio Catholic Cemetery in Cleveland, NM. Serving as pallbearers are Fabián Romero, Christian Vigil, Alexander Vigil, Ricky Crespín, Jeremy Córdova, Steven Knezevich, Lucas Vigil, and Edward Bustamante. Serving as Honorary pallbearers are his Agua Negra brothers Juan F. Archuleta, Jr,, Ángelo Archuleta, Gabriel Estrada, Miguel Martínez, and Chris Gutiérrez; his younger primos Jusiah Estrada, Santiago Archuleta, Corrina Archuleta, Santana Archuleta, Marisabel Archuleta, y todos sus Hermanos Fraternos.

A reception celebrating Quino's life will follow the burial at the Mora Olivas-Valdez VFW Post 1131.
