On Monday July 28. 2025, our beloved Joe "Oso" Gallegos entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven.

Joe, born Jose Augustine Gallegos, was born to Emma Gallegos and Augustine Santillanes on April 22, 1967.

Joe worked many years for the West Las Vegas School District and with the Citizens for the Developmentally Disabled.  His favorite past times included facetiming his grandchildren, and calling friends, near and far. He enjoyed watching "Raid That Cage" and "Wheel of Fortune".  He and his wife could often be found on an afternoon "cruise" around town, stopping for the occasional DQ Dilly Bar.  He rarely went anywhere without running into a friend or relative. He will be missed by so many.

Joe is survived by his wife of 30 years, Connie Montoya Gallegos, his children, Martin & wife Nicole, David & wife Sonia, Rachel and husband Jerry and Rochelle, his cherished grandchildren, Jaedon, JJ & wife Taylor, Isaiah & wife Janessa, Elijah, Dominic, Jace, Leah, Ashley, Jediah, Isaac, Micah & Gabriella and his precious great-grandsons, Aiden, Levi and Logan.

Joe is also survived by one sister Joann Gallegos, his nieces and nephews, Lori & husband Joseph, Lucy & family, Sonny Ray, great-niece Andrea, great-nephews, Mikey (Valerie) & family and Marcos, Christopher, Johnathan, Josh, Joseph Jr., Destiny, Tenielle, Katheline, Taylor, Adelaida, Pablo, Alicia and special great-nephew Alijah, and many relatives and friends that loved him for his goodness and kind heart.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine and Emma Gallegos Santillanes, his granddaughter, Anisa Montoya, two brothers, Ruben "Sol" Gallegos and Raymond "Peanuts" Gallegos, one sister, Lucille "Chila" Martinez, his nephews Pablo Martinez, Patrick Martinez, Gabriel Gallegos, nieces Christina "Tina" Gallegos and Judy Padilla.

Services for Joe will be on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Las Vegas Christian Center located at 2501 Ridge Runner Road. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Honorary Pallbearers, his great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Burial will follow at the San Antonio Cemetery, located on 8th Street Extension.
