On May 22, 2024, Joe "Freddy" Lujan went to be with Our Lord. Freddy, age 70, was born on October 13, 1953, to Benjamin and Frances Lujan who precede him in death.

He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucas and Isabelita Lujan and Vicente and Beatrice Sanchez; siblings, Salomon "Sal" and Helen Lujan, Benjamin Lujan, Sr., Irene (Ernesto) Lopez, Angela Lujan; nieces Peggy de Jesus and Trinity Olivarez; nephews, Benjamin "Benjie" Lujan and Rico Lujan are also in Heaven.

He is survived by longtime girlfriend of 16 years, Julia Scott and her family; siblings; Robert (Flora) Lujan, Danny (Olivia) Lujan, Ruby (Larry), Maria Pita (Ray), Susan (Bobby) Lopez, Rose (Ruben) Ortiz, Dorothy (Frank) Aragon, Dina (Julian) Herrera and Julia Lujan. Freddy is also survived by a very special aunt, Antonia Lujan, from Colorado, and many nieces, nephews, having one goddaughter, Angela Sena and two godsons, Henry Vasquez and Jesus Herrera.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, in Las Vegas, NM, beginning with a Rosary at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery.
