Obituary

Joe Adolpho Padilla, 81, of Bayard, New Mexico, passed away in Rio Rancho, New Mexico on September 22, 2023. Joe was born on April 1, 1942, in Bayard, New Mexico. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Joe was a man with a warm and humorous personality. He had a knack for making people smile and was always eager to engage in conversations and connect with his relatives. Joe had a special fondness for adding a touch of spice to his meals and enjoyed eating chile with his food.

In addition to his delightful personality, Joe also proudly served in the Coast Guard, where he received a medical discharge. His dedication to serving his country is a testament to his bravery and commitment.

After his military service, Joe pursued a career as a machinist. His skills and expertise in this field were highly regarded. He made significant contributions throughout his career, including work on the NASA space shuttle and the Disney World Globe.

Joe will be deeply missed by his surviving family members. He is survived by his loving wife, Aveli; their children Bryan, Carmela (Belinda), Melissa, and Derek; their grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer, Justin, Elise, Chloe, and Camryn; and his sisters, Angie and Becky. He was preceded in death by his father, Simon, his mother, Teresita, and his siblings, Simon, Corinne, Elsie, Gavina, Richard, and Evaristo.

Joe Adolpho Padilla will forever be remembered for his humor, kindness, and ability to bring people together. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service to honor Joe's life will be held on September 29, 2023, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM MDT at Rogers Mortuary, 600 Raynolds Ave, Las Vegas, NM 87701. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on September 30, 2023, at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church in Mora, New Mexico, with interment to follow immediately after the mass. Pallbearers are sons Bryan and Derek, daughter Melissa, and grandchildren Daniel, Justin, and Elise. Family, friends, and acquaintances are invited to attend and pay their respects.
