Joe Richard Vasquez, age 71 a longtime resident of Ledoux, NM passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at his home.
He was born on July 2, 1944 to the late Ricardo Vasquez and Aurora Vasquez on July 2, 1944 in Chacon, New Mexico.
He retired from Mora Independent Schools where he was employed as a janitor for 23 years. HE was a very hard working man and loved the outdoors. He loved fishingand spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was very helpful in raising not only his children but his grandchildren. He loved rach one dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ricardo and Aurora Vasquez; brother: Michael Vasquez and sister: Eufelia Garcia-Vasquez.
He is survived by his loving wife: Lora S. Vasquez of the family home; sons: Richard Vasquez of Rio Rancho, NM; John Vasquez and wife Charlotte of Guadalupita, NM; Terry Vasquez and wife Brenda of El Oro; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters: Rose Gallegos and Georgia Vasquez both of Las Vegas, NM; brother: Baudelio Vasquez; sister: Martha Martinez both of Las Vegas, NM; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 7:00pm at St. Gertrude Church in Mora, NM. Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 10:00am also at St. Gertrude Church with father Paul Grala, SOLT as Celebrant. Serving as Casket Bearers will be Richard Vasquez, John Vasquez, Terry Vasquez, Jordan Vasquez, JJ Vasquez and Justin Romero. Serving as Honorary bearers will be all of his grandchildren. Cremation will follow services and burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
