John Francisco Esquibel, 86, a life-long resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away peacefully at home, on September 10, 2024. John was born on August 9, 1938, to Nicolasa Gallegos and Juan B. Esquibel, in Las Vegas, NM.

He was joined in marriage to Sara F. LaFebre on June 6, 1959. John dedicated his life to his family and his career in the grocery business. He was known for his sense of humor and fun-loving nature with his fellow co-workers and customers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He had a love for music, often playing the guitar and harmonica with his brothers.

John is survived by his children, Robert Esquibel (Kirsten), Elizabeth Esquibel, John D. Esquibel (Yolanda), and Jeanette Lucero (Anselmo). His grandchildren, Amanda Orozco, Robert Esquibel Jr., Steven Esquibel, Lisa Esquibel, Julie Esquibel, April Mathias, Megan Esquibel, Haley Vigil, Mae Esquibel, Will Esquibel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10am, at Corner Stone Church with Pastor Mark Saiz as officiant. Burial to follow at San Isidro Cemetery in Manuelitas, NM. Pallbearers will be Robert Esquibel Jr., Isaac Esquibel, Steven Esquibel, Ernest Romero, Daniel Sparks, Cornelio M Sanchez, and Anselmo Baca.
