John A Romero aka (Johnny , Castelo, Rambo), 71 old Las Vegas, New Mexico was taken to heaven on June 2, 2026.

He passed away in his home. He was born in Taos, NM and graduated in Holyoak CO. He worked in the mines in the late 70’s to the early 80’s where he met his late wife, Anna Romero. They both moved to Las Vegas NM to raise their son Juan Carlos Romero. He retired from NMBHI and enjoyed retirement He loved the outdoors and traveling. Fishing was the love of his life and 48 hrs. before his death he was coming back from a fishing trip. To those who know (He still has the TITLE he would say).

He is survived by Juan Romero son and partner Sabrina Trujillo, Jasmine Romero granddaughter, Diego Valerio grandson, Brothers and sisters, Sisters Stella Gallegos husband Paul Gallegos, Arleen, Romero, Florence Romero, Amos Romero, Samuel Romero. Nieces and nephews. And multiple great friends that were with him till the end.

Rosary service will be held on Monday June, 8, 2026 at 6:00pm. Funeral mass will be conducted on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 9:00am with Father Sarfraz Alam as celebrant both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
