John Valentin
Shrum
September 4, 1960 – February 19, 2022
John Valentin Shrum, age, 61, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Saturday February 19, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM surrounded by his family.
He was born to Jack Harding Shrum and Alcaria Archuleta on September 4, 1960 in Las Vegas, NM.
He was united in marriage to Joy Garcia on August 1, 1998 in San Miguel, NM. All who knew John knew that he was a person who gave from his heart. He loved being in the mountains getting wood. If someone couldn't afford wood to keep their house warm, he would just give it to them. In turn, God blessed him with wood when he could no longer go for more. Everywhere John went he would take his bible with him. He would say, "I'm going to the mountains for ride, but don't worry because I'm never alone." He knew God was with him all the time. He would talk to everyone he met with about how God changed his life. He would tell them, "If I could change, anyone could change." John put God first in his life. He taught his children and grandchildren how to turn to God. He had many special friends and he will be missed by many.
