It is with profound sorrow that we announce the birth and passing of our beloved baby Jonah Hezekiah Chavez. Though Jonah’s time with us was brief, he was surrounded by endless love and holds a place in our hearts that will last forever.

Jonah is deeply cherished and mourned by his parents Jesus Chavez and Angel Gutierrez and brothers Amias and Nico.

Jonah is preceded in death by his great grandparents Rosabelle Chavez, Johnny Romero, Amelia Gutierrez, and Benny Lovato.

He is survived by his great grandparents Julia Lovato, George Gutierrez, Paulina Romero and Antonio Chavez; grandparents Pete and Arlene Gutierrez, Jane Lovato, and Jamie and Joni Chavez; Aunts Jalyn (Rob) Ortiz, Roxanne Marquez, Tenisha Marquez, Jamie Peralta, Catherine Padilla, Dana Abreu, and Josie Jauregui; Uncles Jamie Chavez Jr, Jacob (Jewell) Gonzales, Daniel Gomez, Angelo Gutierrez, David Gutierrez, Anthony Marquez, and Andres Flores.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31 at 9:00 at Our Lady of Sorrows with burial following at San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM. Pallbearers for Jonah will be his grandfather’s Pete Gutierrez and Jamie Chavez Sr. Honorary pallbearers are Amias Chavez, Nico Chavez, Jamie Chavez Jr, and Daniel Gomez.

Some people only dream of Angels, but we held one in our arms. Jonah will be deeply missed.
