Jose Bennie Benavidez Sr., 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Jose Bennie was born on February 18, 1936 to Belisandro & Teresita Benavidez in San Geromino, N.M.

Bennie is preceded in death by his wife Gloria Benavidez, his sons baby Michael and Jose Benito Benavidez Jr.; grandsons: Gilbert Montoya, Eloy Jr. and Lloyd "Tino" Gonzales, great grandson Anthony Jaramillo Jr.; his parents Belisandro and Teresita Benavidez; his sisters: Sally Gonzales, Annie Gallegos, Cecilia Tafoya and his brother Tony Crespin; niece, Geneva Benavidez, father and mother-in-law Isaac & Sofia Gold.

Bennie is survived by his children: Cathy Gonzales (Moises), Michael Benavidez (Natalie), Janie Vigil (Pablo), Christopher Benavidez, Shirley (Esther) Montoya, Donna Benavidez, Elizabeth Benavidez (Paul), Janette Benavidez. Grandchildren: Joseph and Miquella Benavidez, Jennifer Yara-Zelenski (Andy), Joshua Vigil, Sonya Jaramillo (Gilbert), Estevan Benavidez, Audra Pacheco (Christopher), Ron Montoya (Cassandra), Isaac Ortiz (Rhianna), Shannon Ortiz (Alejandro), Desiree, Ashley & Brianna Romero, Tommy Baca (Marisa), Anthony Jaramillo (Naomi), Raymond Martinez, Dezirae Benavidez (Vince), Devynne Benavidez (Richard), Alexis Sanchez (Justin). Great grandchildren: Jordan, Preston & Tino Gonzales, Dominic Montoya & Ariana Medina, Jacob Zelenski, Emiliano, Joshua Jr. & Jeremiah Vigil, Andes Benavidez, Amarah & Anayah Montoya, Zayden Ortiz, Elijah Estrada, Isaiah Reyes Ruiz & Mia Romero, Sierra, Antonio & Luke Baca, Jazlyn, Aliannah, Luciano, Ernesto & Marianna Jaramillo, Tino Martinez, Azlynn, Benito & Vince Jr Herrera, Trinity Flores, Harmony Benavidez & Zayne Alirez, Justin Jr. & Rose. Great-great grandson: Alec Gonzales.

Rosary & Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Friday, March 15, 2024. Rosary at 9:00 am, Funeral Mass will follow after rosary. Mass services will be streamed live via: oloslasvegas.org or can be seen on Facebook at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church-LVNM. Interment will follow at a later date at the Benavidez Ranch.
