It is with deep sadness that we announce the quiet passing of Joe/Jose N. Esquibel, on the evening of November 14th in Albuquerque, NM at the Brio Assisted Living Facility, with family by his side. He moved to Albuquerque in October, 2019, and lived there till his time of passing.
He was born on June 18, 1935 to Refugio Esquibel and Luciana Gonzales Esquibel in San Geronino, NM, he was 87 years old. He was a life long residence of Las Vegas, NM.

Joe was employed with the City of Las Vegas for 25 years, he was the waste and water director for many of those years. He inspected many miles of sanitary sewer lines placed by several different contractors. He honed his expertise by following and learning from Molzen and Corbin Engineering firm from Albuquerque, NM.
After retiring he spent some time helping children learn horsemanship/riding at the Rancho Valmora. The ranch served troubled youth by teaching them to ride and interact with horses. Helping the kids gain confidence and improve their self estem.
He was an avid horseman and team roper, and a lifetime member of the USTRC(United States Team Roping Championships) the association started in the 1970's. During his team roping era he had a well deserved nick name of One Loop Joe.
A friend to many he will be terribly missed, we know he is with our heavenly father and that is our solace. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place at a later date.
