Jose S. Griego, age 72, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

He was born on March 8, 1954, to Pablo and Barbarita Griego in Tecolote, NM.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Petra Griego, Erlinda Martinez, Simon Griego, Jose Francisco Griego, Ramon Griego and Esquiel Griego.

Jose is survived by his companion Erlinda Lujan of the family home, special niece, Frances Martinez (Manuel Pacheco) of Tecolote, NM, brothers, Ignacio Griego of Rocky Ford, CO and Jacobo Griego of Las Vegas, NM, numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Rosary service will be recited on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 9:00am, funeral mass will follow both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant. Interment will follow at Tecolote Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers Angelo Pacheco, Florentino Martinez, Jose Griego, Jessie Griego, Rudy Griego and Marvin Martinez. Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Alires.
