Jose Donaciano Herrera

(September 26, 1924 – July 21, 2022)

Jose Donaciano Herrera, age 97, resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

He was born on September 26, 1924 to Cleofes Herrera and Hermogines Baca and was raised in Tecolote, NM. He worked for NMDOT for over 28 years as a Highway Maintainer in District 4, and was a resident of Vida Encantada for the past four years.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents and step-mother Adelia; wife: Andrellita Elena Herrera; daughter: June Herrera; grandson: Jose Herrera; brothers: Noverto Herrera, Esequiel Herrera, Tiofilo Chavez, and Tony Herrera; sisters: Faustina Chavez, Andalecia Pacheco, Ursula Aqerna, and Francis Gallegos.

He is survived by son Jimmy (Mary) Herrera of Nampa, ID; daughters: Gloria Herrera (Manuel) of Albuquerque, NM; Emo Jean Herrera of Las Vegas, NM; Lorraine Bizzack of Arlington, TX; Jo Newton (Allen) of Albuquerque, NM; JJ Ortiz (Ray) of Albuquerque, NM; and son/grandson Chris Herrera (Geri) of Tucumcari, NM; 6 other grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sisters Angie (Chela) Durward, Jane Pacheco, Viola Trujillo, Olivia George, and brother Manuel Suazo; numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Rosary service will be on Friday, August 5 ^th , 2022 at 9:00am, funeral will follow, both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant.

Interment and reception will follow at the Tecolote cemetery and school.
