Jose "Ruben" Trujillo, born on February 13, 1941in El Porvenir, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025 surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and wisdom touched the lives of many.

Jose lived a full and vibrant life, dedicating a portion of that serving in the United States Army National Guard. He was discharged on December 31, 1965. Upon completion of his term, he spent years of devotion and continued service to his family, his community, and his work with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for over 30 years. Jose was known for his friendliness, generous spirit, and the warmth he brought to everyone he met. His legacy is carried on by his children, grandchildren, and countless friends who were fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents - Ignacio Trujillo and Candelaria Lupe Trujillo; Brothers - Tom Trujillo and Ignacio "Tigor" Trujillo; Sister – Lupe Edwards; Nephews – Blaine and Paul Couch

Jose is survived by his wife of 63 years - Pauline Trujillo; Daughter – Debi Lucero (Frank) of Watrous New Mexico; Sons – Ruben R. Trujillo (Ida) of Dallas Texas, and Thomas Paul Trujillo (Tom) of Las Vegas, New Mexico; Grandchildren - Gabriel Skees (Star) of Cortez, Colorado; Ruben Michael Trujillo (Kat) of Dallas Texas; Tara Trujillo (Mandi) of Dallas Texas; Matthew Trujillo of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jose's life was a testament to the values of hard work, integrity, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.

Memorial services are pending at this time and will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the local Animal Welfare Coalition (505-426-6715), a cause close to his family's heart.
