Josefre Madrid age, 92, a lifetime resident of Leyba, NM, passed away on February, 3, 2026 at his ranch.
He was born on December, 30, 1933 in Leyba, NM, to Cayetano and Rosaria Madrid he was a loving son husband grandfather great grandfather and great great grandfather brother uncle and friend Josefre and his wife served as Mayordomos for San Francisco church in Leyba, NM for many many years he worked as a custodian for the Valley School.
Josefre retired after 20+ years he was loved by many he loved his family he was a hard worker no matter rain or shine he showed up. He was a ranch farmer. He always went out of his way to help family, neighbors and friends. He was a joker. He was always full of life, love and laughter.
Josefre is preceded in death by his wife Predicanda Madrid and parents, Rosaria and Cayetano Madrid sister Consuelo and daughter Tonia.
He is survived by his children, Lydia and Faustian Encinias, Mike and Gloria Madrid, Theresa and Lincoln Sanchez, Rachel McPherson and Mike Moore, Gloria Encinias and Gilbert Chavez Josefre Madrid Jr., Daniel Madrid and Debbie Lucero, Olivia and Danny Lujan, Marvin and Regina Madrid, Mark and Lynn Madrid, 21 grandkids 51 great grandkids and 18 great great grandkids.
Rosary will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Rogers Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva, NM Serving as Pallbearers will be Adrian Lopez, Sammy Villanueva, Jonathan Tenorio, Mark Madrid, Dylin Lujan, Xavier Madrid Honorary pallbearer will be Albert Lopez and Anthony Mendoza.
