Joyce Garduno, born July 6, 1957, entered eternal rest on November 30, 2024. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Joyce was known for her unwavering strength, compassion, and generosity.

Joyce dedicated over two decades to her community as an officer with the LVPD. She went on to serve with APS Police and later in the attorney general's office, culminating her career with Bernalillo County before retiring.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Julio Garduno; her loving sons, David (49, Henderson, NV), Michael (47, Henderson, NV), and Julian (44, Las Vegas, NM); and her cherished daughters-in-law, Teresa Gallegos, Melissa Gallegos, Angelica Ortiz, and Kimberly Gallegos. Joyce was a proud grandmother to Elicia, Michael, Nikki Rae, Ashlee, Jordan, Micah, Marissa, Isaac, Julian Jr., Charleigh Baca, and Evan Ortiz, a doting great-grandmother to Merrick Anthony Gallegos and god children, Jeff Coca Jr. and Reina Garduno.

Born to Sammy and Lily Martinez, Joyce was the loving sister of Sammy Leroy, Sammy Jr., David, and John. She is preceded in death by her brother, Nick, and her sister, Sandra. She was also a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews: Diego, Matthew, Mark, Lorenzo, Sammy III, Adam, Michele, Susan, and Melissa.

Joyce shared a deep bond with her in-laws, Peter and Sylvia Garduno, and her sister-in-law, Sonya Garduno, as well as her nephews, Ryan and Joshua.

She was previously married to Benny Coca and Martin David Gallegos, with whom she maintained meaningful and loving relationships throughout her life. Joyce extended her nurturing spirit beyond her immediate family, acting as a mother figure and "Auntie Joyce" to many within her community.

Joyce's legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family. Her warmth, generosity, and spirited love for life will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place and Rosary service will be held on Friday, December 13, at 9:00 a.m. following rosary will be the funeral mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
