Juan was a lifelong resident of Rainsville, New Mexico passed away on November 18, 2022. He was a Catholic. He enjoyed being outdoors working on cars, camping, fishing, going for wood, pinon picking, playing cards, building model cars, find a word puzzles, coin collecting, hub cap collection ,and relaxing at home listening to music and watching his favorite t.v. shows. He was a volunteer firefighter for many years with the Rainsville fire dept.

Juan was born in Ordway, Colorado to the late Juan Severo Martinez Sr. and Anita Sorida Martinez Muniz on March 21, 1953.  Juan is preceded in death by his son Juan W. Martinez III.  his parents, sisters Deborah Lawrence, Lucy Gonzales, brother Alfonso Martinez, grandson Juan Valdez and many other relatives.

Juan is survived by his children: daughter Wanda Alvey (Shawn), sons:  Manuel Martinez Sr. (Antonia), Paul Martinez. Grandchildren: Manuel Martinez Jr., Alex Martinez, Hunter Alvey, Melanie Gallegos (David), William Alvey. Great Grandchildren: Seth and S.J. Alvey Amiera Velasquez, Jayden Walker, Cameron Juan Gallegos, mother of his children Nora Molzhon. Brother Richard Martinez (Emilia) sister Evelyn Maestas (Ernesto) many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, godchildren his precious dog Belle. Juan will be greatly missed by many. May his soul Rest in Peace. We the family would like to thank all the staff at St. Vincent Hospital, the staff of Amber Care in his final days. They treated him with so much Love and compassion.

Services for Juan will be on December 1, 2022 at St. Gertrude's Parish in Mora, New Mexico. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am with funeral mass to follow. He will be laid to rest in La Cueva.
