Juan Delfinio Torres, age 42, quietly died on Monday, August 14, 2023 at his home in Canada Bonita, New Mexico.
Juan Delfinio Torres was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Juan Luis Torres and Mary Vigil Torres on May 14, 1981. His elementary and middle school days were at the Wagon Mound Public Schools. He received his GED and attended New Mexico Highlands University then transferred to NM State University, Santa Ana Branch in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Juan Delfinio received his Lineman Program Apprenticeship Certificate. He worked with the installation and maintenance of electrical transformers and power cables in Socorro, New Mexico. Juan relocated back to Wagon Mound, New Mexico and was employed by the Village of Wagon Mound. He worked with the Sanitation and Water Treatment Facility. He then relocated to Canada Bonita, New Mexico to work on the family home and under his father's guidance, he continued working electrical and do wood work. His wood chopping and stone carvings were his therapy.
He is preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents Delfinio and Dora Torres of Canada Bonita, New Mexico, his paternal uncle and aunties, Felimon Torres of the family home, Gene Torres of California, Alice Torres of Las Vegas, New Mexico and Nora Torres of Rainsville, New Mexico; Maternal grandparents Higinio Montes Vigil and Carlota Fernandez Vigil of Wagon Mound, New Mexico, his maternal uncles Paul F. Vigil of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Felix A. Vigil of Las Vegas Nevada.
Juan is survived by his Father Juan Luis Torres, his Mother Mary Veronica Vigil-Torres, his sister Jessica Doreen Torres-Baca (Lee Marvin) of El Ojito, New Mexico, his brother Higinio Luis Torres of Canada Bonita, New Mexico, his beloved children, Amor Denise Torres and Juanito Garcia of Santa Fe, New Mexico. His Paternal uncles and aunties, Theresa Chavez of Clayton, New Mexico, Albert Torres of Las Vegas, New Mexico, Sofie Torres-Blea of Denver, CO, Gloria Torres-Martinez of Albuquerque, NM, Sandra Torres-Alcon (Roger) of Ojo Feliz, New Mexico, Ida Torres of Las Vegas, New Mexico and Linda Torres-Tapia of Las Vegas, New Mexico.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ocate, New Mexico. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023, also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ocate, New Mexico. with Fr. Agustin Henderson officiating.
Juan Delfinio Torres' life will forever be cherished in the lives of his parents, his sister Jessica, brother Higinio, his beloved children Amor and Nito, his cousins, family and friends.
