Juanita M. Sandoval, age 90, a lifelong resident of Chacon, N.M passed away on Sunday, November 13 ^th, at Vida Encantada in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

She was born on April 7, 1932, to the late Manuel A. Maestas and Beneranda Gonzales Maestas in Chacon, N.M.

Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Victor C. Sandoval, her parents, three sisters, Mele, Eleanor, and Louisita, and her brother Manuel.

Juanita received her diploma from Mora High School, where she later worked as a dietician.

On April 9, 1946, she married Victor C. Sandoval in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and the union lasted 58 years. She loved cooking, baking, and all animals. Juanita will always be remembered for having the best beans, fresh tortillas, sweet rice pudding, and no-bake cookies. She was a lifelong rancher who loved her cows, dogs, and all of God's creatures. Along with being a rancher, she was a phenomenal seamstress. Juanita was also a long lifelong member of El Rito Presbyterian Church in Chacon.

Juanita is survived by her only daughter, Shirley S. Sandoval of Las Vegas, and her only son Andres V. Sandoval of Chacon, N.M. She is also survived by her grandchildren Stacy S. Saiz (Diana) of Santa Fe, NM, Sonya S. Saiz-Gomez and husband Gabriel Gomez of Las Vegas, NM, Andy B. Sandoval of Denver, CO, her great-grandchildren, Savannah and Shyanne Saiz, Sebastian, Santana, Sabeian, Shawn, Seneca, Sammi, Sebrena, and Shane Saiz-Gomez. Her two great-great-grandchildren, Jonah Lujan and Ava Quintana.

A special thank you to the Vida Encantada staff, especially nurse Donna Martinez, and to the AmberCare staff. Also, a special thank you to Rod Billingsley for officiating her services.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren and her grand-son-in-law.

Juanita will be missed by her family and friends, but we know she is at peace.

Services are as follows, the viewing will be held from 3 pm - 5 pm on Friday, November 25th, at Rogers Mortuary. Funeral and burial services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 26th , at El Rito Presbyterian Church in Chacon, NM.
