It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Julia S. Martinez on June 10, 2025 at the age of 104.  Julia was born on July 29, 1920 to Eulogio and Vicenta "Bessie" (Mares) Sanchez.  She was married to Erminio (Herman) B. Martinez on August 9, 1940.  They were married for fifty-five years.

Julia was employed in retail for many years prior to her career with Public Service Company of New Mexico until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Erminio, and son-in-law Luis A. Montoya.

She is survived by daughter, Rosie M. Montoya, daughter and son-in-law Aggie and Ovidio Romero.  Grandchildren, Rita E. Montoya, Lisa M. Montoya, Dennis E. Romero (Eva), Robert A. Romero, James P. Romero (Marcine Vigil).  Great-grandchildren, Erik Romero, Joshua Romero, Nailea Romero, Alicia Romero, Gabriela Almanza (Austin Lozoya), and Armando Almanza.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Rosary services will be conducted on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Church.  Funeral Mass will be recited on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Dennis Garcia officiating.  Interment will follow at a later date.  Pallbearers will be her granddaughter Lisa Montoya, grandson James Romero and all of her Great-grandchildren.
