It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Laura Jane Vigil. Laura went to be in the loving arms of Our Lord on August 6, 2023.

Laura was born on November 25. 1949, in Springer NM to her beloved parents Felipe and Fabby Vigil. She was raised in Wagon Mound NM where she attended and graduated from Wagon Mound High. Upon marriage to her husband Barney Sr, she lived for decades in Ojo Feliz on their family ranch and later welcomed their two sons Barney Jr Vigil and Phillip Vigil. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and spending time with family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Felipe and Fabby Vigil formerly of Wagon Mound NM, husband Barney Sr Vigil, formerly of Ojo Feliz NM, sons Barney Jr Vigil and Phillip Vigil formerly of Ojo Feliz NM, granddaughter Brandilyn Vigil formerly of Ojo Feliz NM, great grandson Brandon Vigil formerly of Ojo Feliz, siblings, sisters: Charlotte Gallegos (Ray) formerly of Albuquerque NM, and Shirley Vallejos (Felimon) formerly of Denver, CO. Brothers: Phillip Vigil, Clarence Vigil, and Albert Jacobs formerly of Wagon Mound NM.

Laura is survived by her grandchildren Beau Vigil (Tina) of Alamosa, CO, Brady Vigil (Julia) of Ojo Feliz NM, and Kaitlyn Vigil of Albuquerque NM, great grandchildren Alianna Jade Vigil and Bristol Jane Vigil. Siblings, sisters: Betty Balderas of Wagon Mound NM, and Phyllis Lopez (Savino) of Albuquerque NM. Brothers: Edwin Vigil of Wagon Mound NM and Albert Vigil of Colorado. She is also survived by her god daughter Flor Balderas-Urioste of Albuquerque NM, in-laws Maria Lozano (Carlos) of Las Cruces NM, Charlie Vigil (Mary Jo) of Ojo Feliz, Leroy Vigil (Ida) of Las Vegas NM Jack Vigil (Linda) of Cleveland NM and Jesse Vigil of Ojo Feliz NM, special friends Bernice Alcon and Cynthia Watts. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Laura touched the lives of many with her loving and caring nature. She always greeted everyone with a joyous smile and welcoming words. She was an amazing and precious mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt and grandmother. She will be greatly missed and dearly cherished.

Viewing will be held in Wagon Mound NM at Santa Clara Church at 9:00 am on Friday August 18, 2023.Rosary will follow at Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound at 10:00 am on Friday August 18, 2023. Eulogy will be read by nephew Hector Balderas. Funeral Mass will follow rosary. Serving as pallbearers are Beau Vigil, Brady Vigil, Derrick Vigil, Logan Vigil, Eldy Vigil, Gabriel Urioste, Anastacio Balderas and Clarence Lopez.

Cremation will follow services and  burial of cremains will be at a later date.
