Lawrence L.
Arguello
January 4, 1958 – June 22, 2023
On June 22, 2023 Lawrence L. Arguello was called to be in the arms of Our Lord. He was at home surrounded by his loving wife, sons, and daughter -in-law, which was all he ever wanted. He is preceded in death by his parents Eustacio & Virginia Arguello, his siblings Edward, Rick, Connie, Donald, Frank, Eustacio Jr., niece Gail Martinez and brother-in-law Gilbert Martinez. He is survived by his wife Perla Arguello, sons Richard (Diana) & Ethan Arguello, sisters Molly Baca (Louie) & Helen Martinez, and many nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was born January 4, 1958 in Las Vegas, NM, where he lived out the rest of his life. He graduated from Robertson High School and went on to work with the wrecker service, the plant, and UPS, also forming his own construction company, L.A. Construction (for Los Arguello's), in which he helped many people with building homes from the foundation up. He married Perla in 1986 with who he raised two sons Richard & Ethan, all of whom he loved dearly and deeply. They will greatly miss his tremendous love and joy.
With his knowledge, Lawrence built his house from two different trailers, and throughout the years, with his touch and many skills, turned it into a warm, loving home with his wife Perla and their sons. He helped coach Richard in baseball for many years and taught him how to be good with his hands, just like his father. He helped Ethan in soccer & school, and lent him any tools he needed to dismantle things. Both learning good work ethic from helping their father. He had a caring soul, a big heart, and was always willing to do anything for his family and friends. He loved being outdoors fishing, doing yardwork, being in his garage, or going for rides with his wife. He was blessed to have spent time with his granddaughter Amara, going along with whatever fun, silly things she wanted to do.
He retired from UPS in 2020 after being there for 20+ years. At work, he made good friends between both employees and customers. He was a people person, always welcoming, and generous to those in need, never judging others. Unfortunately after retirement, Lawrence fell sick with cancer and fought strongly for 16 months with the help of doctors, nurses, aides, and his family at home.
The Arguello family would like to thank Dr. Chan, surgeons & staff at UNMH & Presbyterian Hospital, Southwest Physical & Sports Therapy, Ltd., staff at Meadows Home (NMBHI) and staff at Ambercare who helped with Lawrence during his journey. The Arguellos would also like to say thank you to friends, family, and neighbors who have reached out and for helping them. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church July 7, 2023 at 11a.m.
Arrangements are entrusted to and under the care of Rogers Mortuary 600 Reynolds Ave Las Vegas, NM 87701 505-425-3511 or 1-800-479-3511.
