She was honored to be the oldest of 11 children. She delivered 64 babies in her years as midwife, which started at the age of 17 when she delivered her baby sister. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; gardening, farming, sewing, and caning. She took pride in her farming and ranching. Even at 94 she loved to go to the ranch to supervise the feeding and brandings.

She used her passion for gardening and farming to provide a good life for her family. She was very involved in setting up the Tri-County Farmers Market where she was a member for 45 years and held a position as a treasure for over 30 years. She would sell her produce to local grocery stores and farmer's market goers. She was a wonderful seamstress and cake maker. Her clothing and cakes were often sought after because of their quality and beauty. She worked for the parachute factory and JCPenney Aside from spending time with her family she loved cooking beans, singing in the choir, her sweets, bingo, the casino, and most of all her tequila.

She was a beautiful lady who always had her nails and hair done and wouldn't be seen in public without putting on some jewelry, lipstick, and red door perfume before leaving the house. As a midwife and mother, she brought so much life into this world, and departed it leaving behind an amazing legacy of love, hard work, and memories of laughs, lessons, and feistiness.
