Leroy Garcia, age 74, a lifetime resident of Watrous, New Mexico passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at his home.

He was born on July 18, 1947 to Lorenzo Garcia and Carmelita Pera Garcia in Watrous, New Mexico.

My dad was our Hero kind caring and loving Leroy (Doy) Garcia will always be remembered for a lending helping hand and for loving and caring for any animal especially his dog Tiny. Leroy loved being outdoors, going for wood, working on his lawn mowers and volunteering at the fire departments.

Fort union was a place away from home he was well known and thought of as a great mentor when it came to his colleagues, he was well spoken of.

A father like you is rare, one that is so generous smart and kind, a father like you is what everyone needs full of smiles and laughter always doing great deeds nothing can replace a father like you but when you get to heaven god will be lucky to have you too.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son: Leroy Brian Garcia; sister: Emily Sanchez; brothers: Richard Garcia and Pancho Garcia.

Leroy is survived by his daughters: Monica Garcia of Las Vegas, NM, Liz Garcia (Ivan) of Lancaster, CA and Rebecca Garcia of Las Vegas, NM; Grandchildren Amber (Jose), Shannon, Jerome (Desiree), Nevaeh, Rick, Anthony, Janelle, Karina, Yvonne, Sergio, Hope (Vincent), Amanda, Monique (Juan), Andrew,  Dana, Nathaniel, Amor, Nito; Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Landyn, DJ, Mila, Luna, Logan, Genesis, Azrael, Myles, Mason, Zola, Cayden, Lucas and Levi; Special nieces and nephews: Richard Garcia, Lorenzo Garcia, Loretta Garcia, Carmelita Garcia, Jordan Garcia, Anthony Garcia (Novy) Bernadette Sanchez, Frankie Garcia(Joann) and other family.

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 7:00pm at Sacred Heart Church in Watrous, NM.

Funeral mass will be conducted on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 1:00pm at Sacred Heart Church in Watrous, NM with Father Christopher Martinez as Celebrant.
