Leroy "Doc" Pacheco, age 71 passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. Leroy was born on February 2, 1954 in Las Vegas NM. He is preceded in death by his mother Maria Guadalupe Pacheco, grandparents Justo C. Pacheco, Melinda V. Pacheco, brothers Henry Richard Pacheco and Arensio "Archie" Anaya. Leroy was a man of many talents and a jack of all trades. He owned and operated two successful automotive restoration businesses in Las Vegas, New Mexico and started his career in his young adulthood. He was self-taught and took pride in his work with every detail ensuring his customers were happy with his work. He made long lasting friendships from his business and also mentored close friends in his trade who are successful automotive restoration specialists today. Doc' s saying was, "Do things right the first time around or don't bother doing it at all." He was meticulous about his work and every detail often writing everything down on paper. This is how he got his nickname Doc. Leroy was an intelligent man and enjoyed painting, reading and studying about the fine arts, talking about Northern New Mexico culture and history, genealogy, listening to music, going for scenic rides and having deep conservations with friends and family close to him. Doc enjoyed visits from childhood friends and family and spent his final days with them and his younger sister Mia Pacheco.

Leroy "Doc" Pacheco is survived by his sister Mia Pacheco, sister-in law Emily Pacheco, nephews Jonathan Trujillo, Joshua and Adam Smith and Kevin Padilla as well as numerous family members from New Mexico, Chicago and Alaska. We would like to personally like to thank his friends for supporting him by living with him, providing personal care, friendship and meals over the years when he became ill. A special thank you to the staff at Casa Rael for the kind and compassionate care you provided to Doc and also to the staff at Anvoi Hospice. A celebration of life is planned for this summer so that family and friends may attend from near and far. Leroy "Doc" Pacheco will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
