Leroy "Knox" Richards 65, a lifetime resident of Villanueva, NM passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at his home in Villanueva, NM.
He was born to his parents Louis Richards and Maria E. Romero on July 18, 1951 in Espanola, NM.
He enjoyed visiting and walking with people in Villanueva. He worked for San Miguel County solid waste department for 3 years.
A Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Villanueva, NM.
He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Richards, brothers, Gene, David, Stanley, Joe, Johnny and Arturo Madrid, nephews, Arturo Madrid Jr., and Keith Howard.
He is survived by his mother: Stella Madrid, brother: Frank Madrid both of Villanueva, NM; sisters: Josephine Gallegos (Ruben) and family of Villanueva, NM; Sylvia Villanueva (Richard) and family of Portales, NM; Margaret Madrid and Sam of Los Lunas, NM; sister-in-law: Gloria Madrid and family of California; numerous: aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe church in Villanueva, NM. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 9:00 am also at Our Lady of Guadalupe church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Serving as Casket bearers will be Ruben F. Gallegos, Danny L. Gallegos, Ramon E. Gallegos, Alexis Villanueva, Isaiha E. Gallegos, Sammy Villanueva, Mari Valdez and Juan Diego Encinias. Serving as honorary bearers will be his remaining nieces and nephews. Cremation will take place following the services and burial of cremains will be held at a later date at Villanueva Cemetery in Villanueva, NM.
