It is with heavy hearts that we announce our beloved mother, daughter, and sister, Leslie Marquez, passed away peacefully at her home on July 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. Leslie was born on July 19, 1978, in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Danny and Sandra Marquez.
Leslie was a 1996 graduate of West Las Vegas High School, where she was a talented cheerleader and was selected to march in the 1994 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Leslie loved to cook and bake. She loved to dance and fish and was a huge 49ers fan. But most of all, Leslie loved to spend time with her family and friends. She touched many lives and left a lasting impact on those she spent time with. She had an incredible sense of humor and a beautiful, caring heart.
Leslie is preceded in death by her partner Angel Arroyo; paternal grandparents Faustine and Teresa Marquez; maternal grandparents Leo and Mary Garcia; uncles Leo Garcia Jr., Ernie Garcia, and Eric Garcia; aunt Christine Arguello; and special cousin Mariah Arguello.
She is survived by her children AJ and Annaliese Arroyo (Adrian); parents Danny and Sandra Marquez; sisters April Marquez (Santana) and Cheryl Conway; nephew and niece Michael and Amber Varela; and her beloved pets Bruno and Ghost. Leslie also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 7, at 6:00PM and funeral mass will take place on Friday, August 8, at 9:00AM. Both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
