Obituary

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Lidia Aragon at the age of 89 from San Juan. Lydia passed away December 18, 2023, at Christus St Vincent hospital surrounded by her family. She was born in San Juan to Monica and Epimenio Chavez on November 14, 1934. She married the love of her life Maximillian Aragon on December 5, 1953. Maximiliano precedes her in death by 175 days. Their love was so beautifully strong. Together they raised their children, Marlene (Tony) Crespin, Manuel (Joanne) Aragon, Marcella (Henry) Rivera, Mabel (Ricardo) Baca, and Mary Aragon Pacheco. Two infant daughters preceded her Fatima and Maxine. Sister Martina Villas of Henderson Nevada survives her. Grandchildren: Jessica Aragon, John (Cheryl) Rivera, Manny Aragon, Daniel (Diane) Aragon, Adrianna (Adam) Ortiz, Devin Aragon, Jenae (Bryan) Sipes, Celanize Crespin, Ricardo Jr (Sabrina) Baca, Justin Baca, Kevin Baca, Russell Curtis (Marissa) Pacheco, Corey (Elena) Pacheco, Leandra Pacheco, and Amberlyn Pacheco.  Great Grandchildren: Bianca Gallegos, Estevan Gallegos, Israel, Aubrey, Neveah, Kianna, Avianna, John Jr., Joaquin, Jade, Taylor, Skye, Brian Jr., Jude, Ivan, Ethan, Ashlyn, Jazmyn, Arianna, Zach, Aiden, Angelo, Arianni, Alijah, Dayvian, Melody, Curtis Jr, Wade, Hailey, Agustine, Beau, and Lylah. Great Great grandchildren: Ahlani, Melody, Levi and Aria. Many nieces and nephews survive her. God Children, Lucy Chavez, Jerry Villas, Joseph Flores, Frances Flores, Virginia Garcia, Julian Villas, Justin Baca, and Tommy Gallegos.

Lidia was a devout Catholic, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Seeing her family was her greatest joy. A homemaker all her life, her legacy was her one priority. Later in life she enjoyed her beautiful flowers, cruising, the casino and her New Mexico music that could be heard at the neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and love her.

Her family that preceded her in death included Monica (Epimenio) Chavez parents, Eumelia (Gomecindo) Gonzales, Clorinda (Bonne) Villas, Luciana Chavez, Aurelio (Carmen) Chavez, Lupe (Alfredo) Flores, Candelario Villas, Antonio (Dominica) Chavez, Rosa (Vicente) Lopez, Taviano Chavez, and Jacobo (Adelia) Chavez. Brothers & sisters in law Isidro (Oliva) Aragon, Isabel Aragon, ABedon Aragon, Merejildo (Maria) Aragon, Leo Gonzales, Sylveria Ramirez, Felipe Flores, Nemoria Aragon survive her. Those that preceded her, in-laws Inez Aragon, Pricilla Gonzales, Emilia Flores, Candelario (Pita) Aragon

Services will be Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 8:30 AM Viewing, Rosary at 9:30 am followed by funeral at 10:00 @ San Miguel Del Vado Parish in San Miguel, NM. Interment will follow at the San Juan Cemetery in San Juan. God children and grandchildren will serve as pall bearers.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord. And let the perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace.
