Lila F. Candelario, age 71, a lifetime resident of Holman, New Mexico passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012.
She was born April 21, 1941 to the late Jose Tomas Maes and Amalia Arellano in Holman, New Mexico.
She was a teacher with the Mora Independent Schools for 32 years. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Gertrudes Church in Mora, New Mexico. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed Crocheting for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Robert Candelario; parents: Jose Tomas Maes and Amalia Arellano Maes; brother: Eli Romero.
She is survived by her children: Ernest Martinez and wife Yvonne Hays of Las Vegas, NM, Petrita Chavez and husband James of Albuquerque, NM, Albert Martinez and Erika Derkas of Holman, NM, Anita Lucero and fiancee Michael Archuleta of Albuquerque, NM and Johnathan Martinez and Amanda Lerma of Los Lunas, NM; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Tomas Mayo Maes and Jeanie of Phoenix, AZ, Roque Maes and Fedelia of Sandia Park, NM, Peter Maes and Diane of Sedillo Hill, NM, Maria Esquibel and Antonio of Mora, NM and Dolores Serna and Nick of Albuquerque, NM; sister-in-law: Dora Romero of California; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation has taken place and a rosary service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 7:00 pm at St. Gertrudes Church in Mora, New Mexico. Burial will be at the Morada De San Pedro Cemetery in Tramperos, New Mexico Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 am . The following will serve as honorary bearers: Amarante Martinez, Albert Martinez, Ernest Martinez, James Chavez, Miguel Martinez, Santiago Chavez, Johnathan Martinez, Michael Archuleta and all her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
