Louis Atencio, age, 87, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM.

He was born on August 24, 1935 to Ramon Atencio and Lucille Trujillo in Wagon Mound, NM.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Martin Atencio, Alfonso Atencio and Andrew Atencio.

He is survived by his wife: Rose Atencio of the family home; sister-in-law's: Connie Chavez (Milnor), Josie Sisneros (Armando), Isabel Mascareñas and Barbara Jones all of Las Vegas, NM; brother-in-laws: Jose "Delfie" Urioste (Maria) and Eugene Urisote both of Las Vegas, NM; sister-in-law: Priscilla Atencio of Denver, CO; numerous: nieces, nephews, god children, other relatives and friends.

Funeral mass will be conducted on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant.

Burial of cremains will be on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 10:30am at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
