Louis "Red"
Garcia
May 12, 1957 – July 22, 2024
Louis "Red" Garcia, age 67, passed away at home in Romeroville, NM surrounded by family July 22, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Louis was born on Mother's Day, May 12, 1957 in Inglewood, CA to Pete and Helen Garcia.
He is survived by his loving wife Mabel Garcia of the family home; daughters Crystal Chávez (Ernesto), Tracey Beitler (Brad), and Louise Garcia (Marcus); grandchildren Jerome Vigil, Lalania Peña, Kiara Vigil, Arianna Salazar, and Milo Beitler, Jaden Garcia and Davyn Tienda; and their fur baby, Lola Garcia. He is also survived by his sister Pearl Martinez (Ben), brother Albert Garcia (Celina), brothers-in-law Alex Abeyta & Gary Abeyta, sister-in-law Barbara Garcia, special nephew Rick Padilla and several loving nieces and nephews.
Louis grew up in Ribera, NM where he helped his family run The Sunshine Bar & Service Station. Louis was a successful business owner, in which, he was a landscape connoisseur, tree specialist, and boulder purveyor. He built many beautiful rock walls and fountains in Northern NM. Louis was literally a "jack-of-all-trades" and could do almost anything when it came to building things. He left some big shoes to fill for his sons-in-law. He loved the great outdoors and many of the vacations he took his family on were to admire "Mother Earth." He was a selfless man who provided for his family until his very last days. He was proud of all his daughters who were all first-generation college graduates! His wife, Mabel, stood by his side for the last 46 years and never left his bedside as his illness progressed. He instilled in his daughters the invaluable lesson of hard work, ethics, and being a good Christian. He always taught them to "stand by their Word."
He was preceded in death by his daughter Tasha Fitts, granddaughter Faith Fitts, grandson Angel Vigil, parents Pete and Helen Garcia, and brother Dennis Garcia.
