Pastor Louis P. Holguin, 75, was called home to the Lord on Friday, January 26, 2024, following a sudden illness. He was born on February 17, 1948, in Albuquerque, NM to Louie Pete Holguin, Sr. and Susan Garcia Holguin. He served in the Unites States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 in Alamogordo, NM. There he met his wife, Lt. Sharon Fenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Victor Holguin. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon Holguin, his sons Eric (Viola) of Lancaster, KY and Daniel Holguin of Fresno, CA; 8 grandchildren, Katelyn Holguin, Brittney Herrera (Carlos), Louis Holguin III (Faith), Alyssa Holguin, Arianna Griego (Meliano), Shaylyn, Daniel Jr., and Deven Holguin and 6 great grandchildren; brothers Anthony (Katherine) and Gary (Teri) Holguin, sisters Cathy Kerr and Christy Chavez.

Pastor Holguin devoted his life to the ministry of East Drive Baptist Church formerly Las Vegas Baptist Temple for the past 42 years. He founded the Las Vegas Christian Academy and has seen several families come to Christ in his ministry. Also surviving him are the members of his congregation at EDBC. Pastor Holguin was a pillar in the community of Las Vegas. His life was devoted to serving Jesus and wanted anyone he met to know that one day they could have eternal life as he now has it.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, February 2, 2024, at East Drive Baptist Church. Interment will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Louis Holguin, III, Deven Holguin, Anthony Holguin, Gary Holguin, Carlos Herrera, Meliano Griego, Paul Baca, and Paul Baca, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Holguin, Jr. and Ron Dominguez.
