Luisita "Joann"Martinez, of Holman New Mexico passed away unexpectedly at her home January 29, 2023. She was born May 5, 1974 to Patrick and Luisita (Sisneros) Martinez.

Joann lived 48 beautiful years and had nothing but an abundance of love for her family, friends and loved ones. She graduated from Mora High School in 1993. She worked at Tapetes de Lana for 10 years as a weaver. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora, NM. She is preceded in death by her mother Luisita Sisneros Martinez, Maternal Grandmother Maria Refugio Gallegos, Paternal Grandparents Jose Patricio and Mary T. Martinez, Uncle Alex Geno Sisneros, Aunt Margie Romero, Cousins Nazareth "Naz" Lara, Chris Sisneros and Johnny Sisneros. Mother in law Vidilia S. Trujillo and Great Aunt Rosa Martinez and many others.

She is survived by her father Patrick Martinez of Holman NM and her lifelong loving partner Louis "Hopper" Trujillo of Chacon, NM. Sister Patricia Martinez and partner Robert Romero of Ocate, NM, Brother Anthony Martinez of Holman, NM, Nieces Stephanie Martinez Rue and husband Joseph of Las Vegas, NM, Loriann Zamora and husband Augustine of Rio Rancho, NM, April Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM, Sharlene Fernandez and husband Gabriel of Albuquerque, NM and Frankie Lee "Kika" Trujillo of Albuquerque, NM, Nephew Alfonso Trujillo of Santa Fe, NM, Great Nieces Shanta Pino, Miranda Gonzales, Xyla Gonzales Julianna Gonzales, Aliana Trujillo and Ashley Martinez, Great Nephews Raymond Pino 3rd, Joseph Rue "Junior", Logan Rue, Christopher Bernal, Fernando Martinez and Logan Fernandez, Brother in laws Bernardo Trujillo and wife Sandra of Albuquerque, NM, Ernesto Trujillo of Chacon, NM, and Sister in law Rosalee Trujillo of Mora, NM, Aunts Simonita Cardenas (Tony) of Ojo Feliz, Elsie Barela of Las Vegas, NM; Helen Gonzales (David) of Utah; Eva Martinez of Holman, NM; Mary Martinez of Cleveland, NM, Uncles Nazario Romero of Holman, NM, Manuel Martinez (Delfinia) of Holman, NM; Leroy Martinez (Flora) of Cleveland, NM and James Martinez of Farmington, NM, Special Cousins Gloria Romero, Ruth Romero, Monica Martinez, Crystal Martinez and Julie Martinez. Joann is also survived by many wonderful Cousins and Friends.

Joann was an innocent, genuine soul. One so loved. She was strong and ensured everyone was taken care of. She was a kind sweet loving person and always enjoyed the company of family and friends. She loved to weave and left behind many beautiful pieces that we will all treasure for a lifetime. She loved to crochet and absolutely loved going to the Casino. She had energy so bright and a contagious laugh that lit up a room. She will truly be missed.

Rosary service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 9:00 am with both services to be held at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Mora, NM with Father Paul Grala S.O.L.T. as celebrant. Interment will follow at the San Isidro Cemetery in Holman, NM with the following serving as casket bearers, Manuel Martinez, Ernesto Trujillo, Patrick Trujillo, Frank Martinez, Albert Trujillo and Rosanna Medina.
