Lupita Montoya, age 93, a lifelong resident of Rainsville, NM, passed away on Saturday November 26 at her home in Rainsville NM. She was born on April 30, 1929 in Rainsville, NM to the late Felimon and Ermelinda Pacheco. She was united in marriage on January 12, 1945 in Rainsville to the late Rafael Montoya.

She was a retired homemaker and part time school bus driver and enjoyed spending time with her family and going to the casinos. She was a lifetime member of St. Gertrude's Catholic Parish in Mora, NM.

Lupita was preceded in death by her husband Rafael Montoya; son Ralph Montoya; great grandson Kailer Cornelius; great granddaughter Brandy Vigil; parents Felimon and Ermelinda Pacheco; son in law Charlie Trujillo; brothers Felimon Pacheco Jr., and John Pacheco; sisters Flora Vigil and Betty Powell; father in law, Demetrio Montoya; Mother in law Adelaida Montoya; sisters in law Ramitos Medina, Emilia Salazar, Audilia De Tevis, Zita Pacheco, Mae Pacheco and Celina Montoya; brothers in law Ambrosio Montoya, George Montoya, Alfred Vigil, Gilbert Vigil, Alfred Powell, Joe Lucero and Ray Cordova.

She is survived by daughters Addie Trujillo of Ledoux, NM; Connie Cruz and husband Bengie of Holman, NM; sons David Montoya and wife Cleo and Clarence Montoya and wife Yvonne all of Rainsville; Chester Montoya and wife Diana of Albuquerque, NM; Richard Montoya and wife Kelli of San Rafael, NM; Paul Montoya of Rainsville; grandsons whom she helped raise Ralph Montoya Jr. and Greg Montoya (Beverly) of Rainsville; sisters Lina Vigil of Pueblo, CO, Evelyn Cordova of Rainsville, Sister Maria Teresa of Holman, Lorraine French (Tom) of Rainsville, Simonita Lucero of Albuquerque, and Bertha Vasquez (Eliazar) of Houston TX; brothers Tony Pacheco (Cristella) of Rainsville and Joseph Pacheco (Margo) of Albuquerque; sister in law Connie Montoya of Amarillo, TX; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; special nieces Patricia Marrujo (Michael) and Maria Alcon (Gabriel) both of Albuquerque.

Rosary devotional services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday December 4, 2022 at St. Gertrude Parish in Mora.

Funeral services will be will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. December 5, 2022 at St. Gertrude Parish in Mora. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rainsville with the following serving as pallbearers: Mike Marrujo, Austin Montoya, Brian Montoya, Charles Trujillo, Ryan Cruz, Alfonso Montoya, Greg Montoya and Casey Benjamin. Serving as honorary bearers are all her remaining grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
