M. Isabel Troncoso, age 78, of Las Vegas, NM. passed away peacefully in Albuquerque, NM after extended illnesses.
Isabel was born January 6, 1946 in Las Vegas, NM to Manuel Montoya and Mary Gonzales. Isabel lost her dad at the age of two and was later adopted by her wonderful father Louie Troncoso.
Isabel attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School, Immaculate Conception Catholic School and Robertson High School. She then attended Luna Vocational-Technical Institute where she graduated with her nursing degree. Isabel lived in Gallinas Canyon, Las Vegas, NM. Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas, Nevada where she worked as a Registered Nurse for 45 years. She worked for various government and commercially operated health institutions and was loved and respected by medical staff and patients. Isabel loved meeting new people and appreciated different cultures. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveling, going to the Santuario, Native American Art, pottery, her dogs, and even attracted wild bears in Gallinas Canyon.
She is preceded in death by her son, Bill Roybal; granddaughter, Hope; parents, Louie and Mary Troncoso; Dad, Manuel Montoya; aunt, Estefanita Montoya; uncle, Gilbert Montoya; cousin, Frank Montoya, and as Isabel would say the Love of her life, Donald Sandoval.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Robert Roybal (Marcella Herrera) of Las Vegas, NM; grand children, Michelle Ashley (Joseph) of Albuquerque, NM; Gabriel (Angelique), Ezekiel (Catherine), Bobbimarie, Mariah, and Jeannette Roybal of Las Vegas, NM; Great grand kids, Hope, Andrew, Jenna, Adrianna, Jolene, Isaiah, Arianna, Gabriella, and Lucas.
She is also survived by her siblings, Esther Moore of Broken Bow, OK; Richard Troncoso (Annette) of Denver, CO; Yolanda Troncoso (David) of Albuquerque, NM; Fransisco Troncoso of Las Cruces, NM; Rosanne Corples (Eddie) of Las Vegas, NM; nieces, Lydia Ann Pistol (Tim); Annayah Joy Pistol; nephew, Micah Pistol; uncle, Manuel Troncoso, Korean War Veteran of Thoreau, NM; aunt, Rose Montoya of Las Vegas, NM; special cousins, Maggie, Gerald Polaco, Jr. and family. Very special friends, Paula who was like a sister, and husband Larry of Las Vegas, NV; Josephine and Donna and many other relatives and special friends.
A Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Fr. Rob Yaksich officiating. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery.
