Mabel Mary Mondragon beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025 at home in Rainsville, NM. She was born on March 19, 1945 to Alfonso and Fabiola Maestas in Coyote, NM.

She was a member of St. Gertrude's church and had a special place in her heart for the Santa Clara Parish. She enjoyed arts and crafts, baking and spending time with her family and friends. She was well known in the community for her fruit pies, biscochitos and tamales.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Mondragon; her parents Alfonso and Fabiola Maestas; grandson Edgar Jordan; Sisters Rose Martinez and Virginia Fernandez; brother Joe Maestas; great-niece Shawnese Martinez and great-nephew Patrick Martinez. Friends Maria Pacheco, Chavela Medina, Louella Valdez and Videlia Valdez.

Mabel is survived by her daughters, Priscilla Medina (Lorenzo) and Michelle Jordan; grandchildren, Antoinette Medina (Justin Hughes), Michael Medina and Nathan Medina (Ariana Garza); companion, Luciano Vigil; brother, Edwin Maestas (Lynn); special nephew, Pat Martinez (Traci) and family; Godson, Ray Martinez; Uncle, Arthur LeDoux; Aunt, Nila LeDoux and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends, Laura Vigil (she was like a sister), Martha Casias, Nina Duran, Josephine Rivera and Rose Polaco.

Rosary service will be recited on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 7pm in Mora, NM at St Gertrude's Church. A rosary and funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 9:30am in Wagon Mound, NM at Santa Clara Church with Father Agustin Henderson as celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Wagon Mound, NM with the following serving as Pallbearers: Michael Medina, Nathan Medina, Pat Martinez, Matthew Martinez, Justin Hughes and Earl Chavez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Lorenzo Medina, Michael Maestas, Jacob Martinez, Diego Rivera and Marino Rivera.

We would like to thank the staff from Anvoi Hospice, Maggie, Serenity, Devarae, Mark, Marissa, Emma, Amanda, Dottie and Denise. The staff from Fiesta Park Wellness Rehab, especially Nick. Also, Sister Maria Teresa Pacheco, Father Dale Craig and Father Paul Grala. She looked forward to her weekly visits from her childhood friend Sister Maria Teresa. We are also thankful to all the family and friends that called and visited.
