Manuelita "Mell" Pino of Las Vegas, NM died peacefully at home on December 28, 2025. Mell was born in "Frog Town" in Mora, NM and grew up in Santa Fe graduating from Santa Fe High School. She received a bachelor's degree from New Mexico State University and a Master of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University. She worked as a social worker for 21 years at NMBHI until her retirement in 2008. Mell loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She enjoyed reading, doing her word puzzles, and she instilled her love for learning and education in her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Cleofas and Ricardo and Dolores and Francisco as well as her sister Viola and brothers Frank and Robert "Doag".

Mell is survived by Michael, her daughters Natalia (Randy) and Marissa (Aaron), and her grandchildren Christian, Gabriela and Ryan. She is also survived by her siblings: Antonio (Debra), David (Margaret), Louise, Albert (Patsy), Cathy, Leroy, Isaac (Kathy), Deborah, Miriam, Peter and Gabriel, many nieces and nephews, and so many close friends.

A rosary in celebration of Mell's life will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM with the funeral mass to follow on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Mora Catholic Cemetery in Mora, NM.
