Margarita Ortega, 80, of Mora New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Margarita, also known as Margie, was a beloved mother, sister, wife, and grandmother. She has entered eternal life to be with her heavenly father and loved ones.

Born on October 25, 1943, in El Carmen, New Mexico, Margarita was the daughter of Ramona and Arturo Martinez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ortega, and her son Brian Ortega, her mother Ramona Martinez, her father Arturo Martinez, her brother Arthur Martinez. Margarita is survived by her daughter Debbie Aragon and husband Alex Aragon, her son Robert Ortega, her sister May Anderson, her brothers Roy Martinez, Ted and wife Linda Martinez, grandchildren Amber-Rose Duran, Robyn Ortega, Ashley Martinez and spouse Andrew Aragon, Brian Martinez and spouse Dione Encinias, Tanya Martinez, great grandchildren and special friend Samuel Griego.

Margarita attended Mora High School and later pursued higher education at Business College of Albuquerque, NM. She dedicated 36 years of her career as an Administrative Secretary at Mora/San Miguel Electric Co-op.

Margarita was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Mora, NM, where she found solace and community. She cherished her faith and the values it instilled in her.

In her free time, Margarita enjoyed exercising, being outdoors, visiting the local senior center, and most importantly, spending time with her family. Her warm presence and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 4th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Rogers Mortuary in Las Vegas, NM, Interment will follow with the following serving as Pallbearers Brian Martinez, Andrew Aragon, Anthony Romero, James Andazola, Richard Romero and Alex Aragon at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
