Margarito Saiz, 94, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away with his family by his side in Albuquerque, NM on August 22, 2025.

He was born on June 2, 1931, in  Chaperito, NM to his parents Manuel and Sophia Saiz.

A Catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Margarito has joined his beloved wife, Josie, of 63 wonderful years.

He enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, listening to Spanish music, eating sweets, traveling to the casino,drawing, wood working, playing around in his shed, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, beautiful stories of working and living on the ranch, day trips to La Liendre with his grandchildren, his love for animals, and his true cowboy spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Sophia Saiz; wife, Josie Saiz; daughter, Tina Saiz; son, Larry Saiz; granddaughter, Julie Saiz; brothers Estevan, Delfino, Dominico, and Frank Saiz; and sister Maria Sanchez.

He is survived by his sons and daughter, Leroy Saiz, Lawrence Saiz and wife, Roseann, all of Las Vegas, Lorraine Wall and Husband Roy, Eddie Saiz and wife Sandra, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters raised as daughters: Monica Padilla and husband Michael, of Las Vegas, Tranette Montoya and husband, Shawn of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Viola Ortega, Vita Lucero, Ray Saiz and wife, Margie, all of Las Vegas and Anita Lucero of Fort Worth, Tx; numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Rosary services will be held on September 2, 2025 at 7:00PM at the Immaculate Conception Church. Funeral services will be held on September 3, 2025 at 9:00AM at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father Dennis Garcia as celebrant. Interment will follow at the St Anthony's cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as pallbearers: Annette Saiz, Monica Padilla, Audra Saiz-Carrillo, Ashley Saiz, Judith Saiz, Tranette Montoya, and Mercedes Saiz. Honorary bearers: Bobby Sisneros, Conrad Sisneros, William Saiz, Eddie (EJ) Saiz, Jeffery Padilla, Shawn Montoya, and Zander Montoya. Leading the precession on horseback to St Anthony's, Justin and Colton Padilla.
