Maria Dora Romero, age 89 a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

She was a catholic and member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

She was born on March 19, 1934 to Ramon Salas and Mariquita Trujillo in El Turquillo, NM.

Maria loved to fish, collecting fire word, cook and spend time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jose Romero; brothers, Juan Salas, Gilbert Salas and Leroy Salas; sister, Cleo Flores; grandson, Jaime Romero

Maria is survived by children: Elcio Vigil (Elizabeth) of Las Vegas, NM, Mary Alice Vigil of Denver, Colorado, Elaine Martinez (Andres) of Meadow Lake, NM, Lillian Romero (Pedro), Fatima Romero, Veronica Vigil all of Denver, Colorado, Rogelio Romero (Rosemary) of Roswell, NM and Alvaro Ralph Romer of Santa Fe, NM; 30 grandchildren, 91 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Rosary service will be recited on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 6:00pm. Funeral mass will be conducted on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 9:00am both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM with the following serving as Pallbearers Zachary Vigil, Isaiah Vigil, Obed Salas, Rogelio Romero, Eric Buell and Fred Flores. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Jr. Arias, Andrew Martinez, Samuel Martinez, Paul Baca, Joe Baca, Victor Trujillo, Jr., Ralph Romero, Martin Cadena, Alfonso Marrujo, Issac Vigil and all her grandchildren.
