Obituary

Maria "Jessie" Lovato passed away on December 8th, 2024 in her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 2nd, 1939 to Jose David Montoya and Agueda (Gonzales) Montoya Lujan. Jessie was raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico and moved to Colorado and soon after, she married Santiago Lovato on September 6, 1958.

Jessie loved to dance and cook (and she was good at both…). She loved shopping and collecting pig figurines and she also loved to read and talk to her family and friends on the phone. Jessie worked at numerous places in her journey through life including housekeeping, Bennetts tackle, Johnsons Corner, The Loveland Police Department in the parking enforcement division. Also at Mckee Medical Center, and Walmart in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She also worked at the House of Transfiguration in Bayard, Nebraska. Jessie was also a Caregiver for troubled children and also for Special Needs Adults.

Jessie is survived by her husband Santiago Lovato of Greeley, Her daughters: Maria Cecilia Solano (Jimmie), Dona Sadie Medina, (Joe), Josefina Barbarita Maestas (Mike), and Christine Karen Spomer (Derek). And one son David Wayne Lovato (Sandra). She is also survived by her sisters Margaret Smith, Caroline Montoya, MaryAnn Ortega (Alfonso) and Lorraine Maese (Elias), and three brothers, Manuel Lujan (Charlene), Gilbert Lujan (Evelyn) and Carlos Lujan. She is also survived by her Granddaughters, Crystal Salomon (Fortino), Keri McLerran (Tim), Jamie Medina, Kassandra Tep (SonNee), Kendra Lovato, Kristen Lovato (Ivan), Vanessa Lovato, Elizabeth Belford and Augie Belford, also Grandsons Joe Medina (Mandy), Daniel Medina (Aimee), Paul Maestas (Francine), AJ Solano, Johnny Lovato, Charles Belford (Barb) and Malachi Belford, She is also survived by 25 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Juan D. Lovato, her mother Agueda G. Lujan and her sister Georgia Roybal.

Jessie was devoted to her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and touched everyone whom she met. She was a blessing to her family and friends and will sadly be missed.
