Obituary

Maria "Lupita" Olivas was born on March 25, 1930. She was peacefully reunited in Heaven with her husband, Antonio, on March 5, 2022. Lupita was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Olivas, her parents Jose Maria and Albina Hurtado, sisters Josie and Ortencia. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She is survived by her God-daughter, Crystal Moore husband Mike, her sister, EmmenciaRomo, special nieces: Evelyn Romo, Carmela Alcon, Barbra Kheul, Theresa Olivas, special nephew, Frank Leyba, honorary grandchildren Will, Tessa and Avery and many nieces, nephews and God-children.

Lupita spent most of her life in the lovely Mora Valley. She loved looking out of her window at the beautiful mountains and taking walks around Tramperos Road. Lupita was a devoted Catholic and member of the Legion of Mary. She loved crossword puzzles, Pepsi, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Lupita had many jobs throughout her life but was most proud of her time as a Senior Companion in the Mora valley and Foster Grandmother at the local elementary school

Rosary service will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 7:00pm at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Mora, NM.

Funeral service will be on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 10:00am with Father Dale Craig as celebrant.

Interment will be at San Isidro Cemetery in Holman, NM.
