Maria Nera Saiz

Nera Saiz was born in Anton Chico, New Mexico, but lived in Las Vegas, New Mexico for most of her life. Nera worked as a hotel housekeeper and in food services for WLV Schools. She was a homemaker while caring for her mother.

In her free time, she enjoyed embroidery, word search puzzles, praying the daily rosary and of course her favorite, playing Bingo. She loved listening to music and enjoyed singing and dancing along.

She was preceded in death by her parents Tranquilino Saiz and Teodorita Bachicha, and stepfather Robert LeDoux; brothers Herman Saiz and Harold LeDoux; sisters in-law Lucy Saiz, Marcella LeDoux, and Adelina LeDoux; several step siblings, their spouses, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; and for those of us who remember, her beloved Chiquita, the meanest one eyed, yappy Chihuahua ever.

She is survived by brother Ernest LeDoux and family, sister Rita Ortega (Adrian) and family. Special nieces who cared for her until her death, Patsy Otero, Joyce and Beatrice LeDoux and Virginia Duran. Along with great niece Yvonne Cartee and great-great niece Dani Cartee. Many other nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive her.

Cremation has taken place and Rosary service will be recited on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 9:00am funeral mass will follow both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM.

Burial of cremains will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
