Maria Delia Vigil passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2022 surrounded by her loving family in Raton, NM.

She was born on a beautiful sunny day in Maes, NM on May 23, 1937 to the late Jose Leon Medina and Estefunita Gallegos Medina.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 56 years Raymundo Agapito Vigil; brothers: Samuel Medina, Pedro Medina and Tobias Medina.

Maria is survived by her daughter: Alice Aileen Lovato, son Patrick Raymond Lovato; granddaughter: Krystle Sheree Lovato all of Raton, NM; grand pup: Turbo Ray Lovato; sisters: Angie Sexton of Santa Rosa, NM and Dora Murberry (Neil) of Rocky Ford, CO; very special niece: Ramona Pacheco (Gabriel) and their family of Pecos, NM, brother and sister-in-law who she loved with all her heart Tito and Cathy Vigil, and numerous other brother and sister-in-law's, nieces, nephews and friends.

Delia was a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM and a current resident of Raton, NMshe dedicated her life to working as a cook supervisor in the cafeteria for the Las Vegas City Schools, after her retirement she also worked at bealls for 10 years.

Delia was humble and kind. She loved being raised on the family ranch. Her fondest memories were with her parents and siblings she took great pride in her work. She always greeted everyone with a smile and hug.

Her love of Cooking continued and she made the most amazing red Chile. She loved to dance and listen to music. Although life was not always easy she always made the best of it. She was a devoted catholic who prayed the rosary for everyone twice a day. She kept the faith and always put the lord first.

The family appreciate the care and services of Robin Pilley ad Connie Shields. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Recitation of the most Holy Rosary will be on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM

Funeral mass will be on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 9:00am with Father Rob as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Medina Family Ranch in Maes, NM with the following serving as pallbearers:  Jeff Esquibel, Andrew Lovato, Gabriel Pacheco, Paul Esquibel, Brent Moyer, Aurelio Vigil

After burial there will be a meal at Victory Home Health on Hot springs Blvd to celebrate Delias Life.
