Maria Margarita Zamora, 90, passed away on December 13, 2023.  She was the widow of Lucio Zamora.  They shared 60 years of marriage.  She was born in Rociada, NM and was the daughter of Frank and Maria Encarnacion Paiz.  After graduating from High School she completed her Bachelor's of Science degree at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM.  She also completed her Master's of Education degree and was a teacher for over 20 years.

She served as an active member of the Catholic Church in many different parishes.  Her love of music led her to serve in the music ministry wherever she lived.  She participated in the Lion's organization for many years and had the opportunity to travel internationally for several of their conventions.

She is survived by six daughters, Natalya, Suzette, Bernadette, Renee, Celeste and Jeanne and four  sons Paul, William, Mark and Matthew, and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Lucio and son, Andrew.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 6pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Old Town Las Vegas (403 Valencia St, Las Vegas, NM). Funeral mass will be held at 9am at Our Lady of Sorrows church on Friday, December 22, followed by interment at Santo Niño cemetery in Rociada, NM with the following serving as Pallbearers (all grandchildren): Jonathan Tellez, Jacob Zamora, Samuel Zamora, Thomas Zamora, Daniel Zamora and Kaitlyn Zamora.
