Martin "Junior" Lucero, 56, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully at his home on October 27, 2024. Born in Clovis, NM, on October 28, 1967, Martin lived a life full of passion, purpose, and service to others.

Throughout his life, Martin embraced many roles, including that of a Marine, a security guard, a maintenance man, and a bartender at The Plaza in Las Vegas, NM. He was a man of many talents, especially known for his love of computers and his remarkable ability to build and fix anything, from small projects to entire homes. Above all, Martin was a protector—someone who looked after everyone he met, often putting others' needs before his own. Martin will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and knowledge that he shared with everyone in his life. Martin has left this world to continue protecting and watching over those he loved, just as he did in life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sally G. Maes and Martin Lucero Sr., his sister Mary Lucero, and his brothers Roberto Lucero and Ernie Lucero. Martin is survived by his children, Tina Gauna (husband Jarred Gauna), Anita Lucero, Martin Lucero, and Santiago Lucero,  and Serena Ortiz his stepdaughter, who he loved and who held a special place in his heart. well as his 17 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Jessica Lucero-Aragon, Mary "Ruth" Berridge (husband John Berridge), Carol Lucero, and Betty Maes.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to honor Martin's life will be held on November 5, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Rogers Mortuary in Las Vegas, NM
