Mary "Jane" Apodaca
It is with our heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, beautiful Jane Apodaca. Jane was born March 22, 1945 to Merejildo Romero and Andrea Garcia Romero; Jane is remembered as an intelligent, strong woman with an incredible determination and grace through her life. Jane's skills in her cooking and crochet was indicative of her creative spirit. A skillful lifelong educator known for her incredible sewing and seamstress skills, Jane retired from Las Vegas City Schools and is remembered to this day for her time spent serving the special needs students of Las Vegas. Jane is also remembered as an excellent mother to her three children, an amazing grandmother and a loving woman to all others. She is preceded by her Daughter Sonia Baca, sisters Marie, Rita, Carrie, Grace, and brother-in-law Artie.
Jane is survived in life by her husband Max Apodaca, daughter Cassandra Lucero, son Ronnie J. Baca (Tina) and, her loving granddaughters Leona, (Jessica), Racheal (Ralph); as well as her grandsons Agustin, Adrian, and Adam Montoya, Isaac Maes, Isaiah, and Brandon (Baca); great-granddaughters Affinity Archuleta and Athena Montoya her sisters, Irene Geoffrion, Cathy Collins (Ray), Louise Sandy and Loraine Romero; brothers Waldron "Sonny" Romero, and Gilbert Romero (Hiilani).
Rosary will be held Tuesday Dec. 20, at 6:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, with the mass being held on Wednesday Dec. 21, 9am at Our Lady as well with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant. Jane will be laid to rest at San Jose Cemetery following the mass services. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
