Mary Kate Martinez, age 78, was welcomed home by her Savior on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025.
Kate was born on March 15, 1947, in Guadalupita, NM, to Jacobo Vigil and Sarah Montoya Vigil of Mora, NM.
Kate was preceded in death by her parents, Jacobo Vigil and Sarah Montoya Vigil, her brother Gene Vigil of Cheyenne, WY., Her sister Angie Garcia of Cheyenne, WY., her grandson Anthony Martinez of Denver, CO., her nephew Lloyd A. Vigil of Denver, CO., and numerous other family and friends.
Kate is survived by her Loving husband Ralph Martinez of Mora, NM., her son Rudy Martinez, and her little fur babies Ellie Mae and Bucky. Siblings Jake Vigil (Bea) of Cheyenne, WY, Tina Vigil of Littleton, CO., Eddie Vigil (Angela) of Cheyenne, WY., Lloyd Vigil (Krystle) of Guadalupita, NM., Ruby Estorga of Cheyenne, WY., Wilfred Vigil (Samantha) of Cleveland, NM., Gilbert Vigil of Cheyenne, WY., Gina Vigil Garcia (Justin) of Mora, NM., and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kate was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly, she will live in our hearts forever, and she will be missed tremendously by those of us who truly loved her, but we know she is now at peace and in the presence of Jesus, her Savior.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 10:00 am at Rogers Mortuary Chapel in Las Vegas, NM. Interment will follow at San Isidro Cemetery in Holman, NM with the following serving as Pall Bearers will be; Rudy Martinez, Lloyd Vigil, Wilfred Vigil, Gilbert Vigil, Matthew Vigil and Justin Garcia.
