Mary L. Flores, 77, passed away on December 9, 2025, surrounded by the family who loved her dearly. Born and raised in Chacon, New Mexico, Mary later made her home in Las Vegas, NM, where she built a life filled with love, loyalty, and an unmistakable spark.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Eleanor Paiz; Her husband, Jose Flores and her beloved fur grand-pup, Vader. Mary is survived by her children, Linda Zimmerman (Lemarr Bates) and Larry Paiz (Michelle Trujillo); as well as numerous cousins and longtime friends.

Mary was a feisty woman with a heart of gold—someone who never hesitated to help anyone in need. She met life with a strong will, a quick wit, and a deep compassion that made people feel seen and cared for. She loved the quiet peace of early mornings with a fresh cup of coffee and her cigarette, and she felt most at home outdoors. Mary embraced the land and the simple joy it brought her.

Mary spent many years' waitressing and preparing income taxes—work she truly enjoyed and took great pride in. She and her husband, Jose, who passed away a few years prior, were long-time members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. They loved spending time with friends and giving back to their community. As a proud Dallas Cowboys fan, she rarely missed a game and cheered passionately for her team every season.

Mary's spirit, strength, and kindness will continue to shine in the memories of those who loved her. Her family will forever cherish the warmth she brought into their lives and the love she gave so freely.

Rosary Services will be at 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 21st and Mass will be at 9:00 am on Monday, December 22nd. Both will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, located at 403 Valencia St., Las Vegas, New Mexico. Funeral travel to follow to Chacon, NM immediately after Mass. Honoring Mary as Pallbearers will be Lenny Coca, Larry Cruz, Martin Garcia, Jesus Flores, Michael Martinez & Carlos Cartee—Larrañaga. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Sandoval, Jason Vigil, Joseph Williams, Cayetano Martinez, Manuel Maestas Jr. & Lemarr Bates.
