Mary A. Maestas, 92 was called home by our Lord Jesus Christ. Mary was born June 17, 1934, in Las Lagunitas and raised in Ojitos Frios, New Mexico. Mary retired from the New Mexico Behavioral Institute after 17 years as a Housekeeping Supervisor. She also worked as a Bartender, member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge No. 3815, Seamstress for the Parachute Factory. Mary loved all types of music, dancing, singing and enjoyed doing many types of crafts. She was a devoted Catholic and sang with many church choirs and even composed songs for La Virgin de Los Milagros.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raphael Lujan and Lugardita Montano Lujan and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Mary is survived by her children, Gilbert (Christina), Nick (Maria), Dianna (Rick), Walter (Susan), Janet and Manuel (Barbara). Grandchildren, Christopher (Helen), Christian, Jude, Branden, Brittany (Carl), Nicanor (Adrianna), Korby (Isac), Eric (Shanika), Tiffany, Julie, and Desiree. Great Grandchildren, Carmen, Evelyn, Estrella, Addison, Urijah, Federick, Hayden, Jared, Isabelle, Lily, Desiree, Rosemary, Sakura, Brooke, Rory, Makayla. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 9:00 am also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery and the following serving as pallbearers are Christopher Maestas, Christian Maestas, Jude Garduno, Rick Esquibel, Larry Paiz, Joe Montano Honorary pallbearers are the rest of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
